Albert Speer, Thomas von Steinaecker and Helmuth Berking in the Urban Undergrowth
The architectural visions of Albert Speer (e.g. Cologne Master Plan) are based on sustainable concepts and individual requirements rather than on public thoroughfares or triumphal arches, for example. Helmuth Berking, specializing in the field of urban sociology, is concerned with the individuality of a city. In his novel Schutzgebiet, Thomas von Steinaecker shows how planning visions crumble under the force of human needs.
This will be an evening about the city, its future and its past as well as our present situation.
Moderator: Michael Vesper l 8pm l 85 Siebacherstraße, Cologne l Kulturkirche Köln l Tickets in advance €13.50 (incl. taxes) / Tickets at the door €15 (incl. taxes)
