State Horticulture Show Villingen-Schwenningen, 2004 - 2005

The underlying idea is to use the measures required for the show to establish the fundamental design and structure of a new greenbelt. Any restoration or dismantling works usually required after such temporary events were to be kept to an absolute minimum. Furthermore, the concept was to provide maximum flexibility regarding time schedule and construction. The area between the Erzberger Strasse to the west and the Neckarstrasse to the east has been defined as a continuous open space that connects the inner city with the Schwenninger Moos. Although the link consists of a sequence of diverse open spaces, it is reinforced by the restored Neckar River and the path system.
