Anting New Town Phase II, Shanghai, P.R. China, 2014 - 2015

After 15 years of development in Anting New Town Phase I, a distinctive German town has been formed. The development of phase II will be the extension of phase I, share the public service facilities in phase I. The key issue is to follow the original design idea as a German town, and optimize the aspects which are not fit to the local situation or the technique requirements. The linkage between phase I and phase II is strengthened. Green belts and pedestrian network connect the residential compounds with public function, schools and kindergartens. Variety of open space will meet the demands of different age groups, which will keep the community lively. A public transportation system is planned including tramline, eco-bus, bicycle and eco-car sharing. Contemporary German architecture is introduced.
